Removing a multiplayer Devouring swarm civic VIA console command.
Sooo yeah.
Friend who's just having his first time in a stellaris co op game with other friends didnt realise that player interactions are locked out too. Understandable but im still looking to help him fix it cus god everyone else got a good start. (we're talking cybrex ringworld start for only the third time in 1,000 hours)

So anyway.
i COULD invade his entire empire when the time comes. Genetic engineering remove the hive mind trait. Create another AI vassel out of the system then he takes control of that one.

But if there's a way i could work around it using the console and a separate save id appreciate the help considering iv never used the stellaris console extensively and the wiki is hardly good at explaining the commands i need.

Basically all im wondering is if i can console out the devouring swarm and if that will revert his empire to the default gestalt capable of diplomacy and such.

iv done similar things in the past with fantic purifiers where in you'd force shift your ethics out of xenophobe but... Gesalt cant be shifted.

load save in singleplayer, use play command to switch to the empire, then
effect force_remove_civic = civic_hive_devouring_swarm
like the wiki suggested except the civic ID,i just looked it up in the game files

disable AI if you load any save in mp. Its horrendeously efficient at "redesigning" all of the player's ships, fleets, building random 10k armies, restructuring your entire economy, everything if you give it a few seconds of running anyone's empire.

All you need to do is pause the game and the AI will not take over. It needs atleast a single day of control before it will begin to make any changes.
