I went more peaceful route.

Grabbed every single slave off the market and sent them straight into Lathe.

Slaves and synthetics still count as genocide to civs where these have full rights.
You can get synthetic assembly into low 30 a month. That's fast enough to fuel the lathe with your own pops, but it will upset all but the spiritual civs.

Nobody cares about droids and hive mind pops.
