It is tragic to say but most of the time you will not get your nomination unless you are a Megacorp/own a ecumenopolis. Even then the scales are balanced against the player since you must win against all nominees combined.

You can make your odds better though if you guarantee the initial nomination rating is [strong] since you can max boost to [perfect]. If you don't get strong you can simply revoke the nomination and reapply it til you no longer get [weak]/[adequate].

With those two things in mind even if you are a [perfect] nominee with 300 trade power you only have (6x300)^1.5 or about 76k winning weight, which would be substantial before considering the other empires. If 10 other empires have on average 80 trade value and get [adequate](which they will always boost twice to become [exceptional]) or (5x80)^1.5x10 then you will still only have about a 50/50 chance of winning the nomination, and most empires that existed at the start of the game will very often exceed that 80 estimation by the time the first market raffle comes up.

Edit: I made an angry post about this same thing ages ago, so I know the feeling, but the cold hard truth is that Paradox doesn't want the player to get the nomination most of the time unless they work REALLY hard for it, and even then you basically never win the first raffle. 99% chance of getting it still ain't 100%.

And you don't get 99% chance at that.
No need to spam the forum either, let alone revive long dead threads.

Keep on playing and pick the decision to replace the Galactic Market and/or conquer the current hosting planet.

It is important to remember that you can always push to re-locate the market with a proposal, but it will always be mostly/somewhat random. Unless you have an Ecumenopolis early/mid game it is more likely than not an enemy will get the market seat with the way it is balanced, and even if you somehow manage to get 80% chance you can still lose. (I have lost before with 700 trade value ecumenopolis with a perfect nomination, it is bs sometimes)

thanks again...all I have to say is "i rightfully won that election and they stole it from me", If i do not lose i should bombard their capital down they wont be so pretty then.

The first time it happened to me, I conquered the winner's homeworld, then sold his entire population off into slavery on the galactic market based in their system. There are definitely cruel but poetic avenues of retribution available when a small empire wins.
