"Too good to be true" means something fishy is going on, is liable to get your key revoked by Steam, and worst of all, doesn't support the devs. May as well just pirate the game at that point, if you're only going to be supporting nefarious third parties, and not the actual developer (of course, you shouldn't actually do that).
The best way to check for authorized sellers is to check IsThereAnyDeal, as they don't promote grey market sites.
During those sales, the legit sellers will have basically the same prices (give or take 1$) with 0 risk.
The only pro is that you can get sales-like prices for some... outside of a sale.
