Synthetic Fertility
1. - Does it make any sense whatsoever to build more than one identity repository?

The effect seems to be divided among all planets having it, so you don't really benefit. Especially when the planet has high trade value (which doesn't scale with resource output, but only "trade value from jobs").

And especially if the planet is newly colonized and only has basic jobs during the first 20 years.

Meanwhile you pay extra 2000 minerals to build repository copies, and not sure if the upkeep costs are also divided.

2. - When taking the virtual way, does it make sense to slow down the process in order to let more pops die, for a maxed-out repository bonus?

If you rush it instead, do you get anything else than keeping pops?

Is the situation "failed" if all bio pops are dead?

3. - Do the Spiritualist Fallen Empires still bully synth-ascended empires?

Funny - "In Limbo" lets you add 5 identities to the repository.

1) As far as I know, the only reasons to build another identity repository are:
- you found a better planet than your capital and want to split the bonus with that planet
- you lost your capital in a war

2) It depends on if you managed to get enough people from migration pacts to not fall too far behind. It takes almost 31 years to have all your pops converted to digital. You won't lose, the situation won't fail, you'll just get a small penalty to agenda speed and a small bonus to engineering research speed and unity until you finish the situation. On the other hand, if you don't wait, you can probably finish the situation almost 10 years earlier and use your new converted pops during that time, wihout suffering from the penalty from that situation.

3) Yes, but the penalty from being humiliated is worth the huge research bonus you get from that origin in my opinion. And you might get lucky and have them not spawn

4) Yes, In Limbo will add those even if you already finished the situation, as long as you kept the repository :)

Really? I've done it twice now, and i completed it by around 2220.

Materialist Megacorp, going Mercantile first, then with the Marketplace of Ideas through Discovery, saving up unity to adopt Synthetics after the situation finishes by researching the third tech.

Both times, i ended up with exactly 29 pops in the repository. Not sure if coincidence, you could certainly delay the synth tech research.

I also tried to see what happens if you don't keep the repository, but it is NOT worth losing like 200 research, 100 unity and 58 trade value, plus 29% robot output on your capital.

Yep, like I said, you can finish 10 years earlier than the time needed to let everyone die and be converted to digital. And those 10 years make a big difference in my experience. In the playthrough I tested that, I changed the research just before it finished, and waited 10 years for people to die, desperately trying to keep the economy running for that time. I also didn't get a migration pact until almost the end of the situation, and I think that's the main reason why it was like that. And by that point I was so far behind that the other empires had a better technological level and started wanting to subjugate my empire.

But in other playthroughs where I finish the situation as soon as possible, even on grand admiral with no scaling, I'm ahead in technological level with that origin, it's how powerful it is (well unless you spawn next to a genocidal empire, then it's game over) :) .
