Making Colony Ship and other ships and HOW to send them where you want
I've watched youtube videos. Yeah, ugghhh. This game suffers from same bad programming and garbage dev. decisions as Endless Space! It's not intuitive at all. Surprisingly so, i can't even get a ship built (until saw youtube) or better still a Colony ship built! Even after watching tutorials!
That option is NOT there in my menu. Well, I'll hang in there and keep trying for awhile, but, I bought Endless Space with numerous DLCs based upon marvelous stupendous reviews! When I started building more ships for battle against an attacker with bunches of ships, I had tons of $$, and it made me broke within 4 ships! That was the end of Endless Space for me. I even bought DLC's for that game based upon reviews.

Yeah, this game is surprising lame in basic operations and sucks really in that regard. No excuse for this in age of computer games AND Endless Space had to watch tutorials how to make a ship -- and how to right click and send a ship to ? and it worked like garbage! I was amazed this occurs in games. I have an invader in Stellaris and wouldn't you know, HOW do I get any fleet (and build one) to attack back? Another tutorial on youtube and it never really gives you the answer point blank. Only a few people on youtube attack this crap programming and crap decisions by developers with a 2 minute video HOW TO MAKE a ship and HOW TO SEND it to where you want it to go. Lousy and no excuses for this. So, I'm not sure if Stellaris is going to end up in garbage can same as Endless Space -- we'll see I guess?!?

Do you have youtube or weblink of EXACTLY what to click on so I can build a Colony ship and if so how to get it to the planet? There's no excuse for this really.

You seem have a severe case of either broken game install, blindness, or broad lack of gaming knowledge.
In the outliner (the menu on the right), you'll have an entry for "shipyard", click it and you'll have a list of ships to build.
As for movement, it's your standard right click.

Also, you quit endless space because you couldn't figure out how to build a ship even with video tutorials...

Not everyone considers Angry Birds as the measure of intuitive design.:engineercat:

Colony Ships are among the more expensive early things to buy. You just have to plan around them. It's not Civ where you expand like wildfire, even with low habitability settings.

You'll find them in the Shipyard, as stated. It's an extra click to select the Pop type (multi-pop empires or single pop, you still need to select the race that goes in the ship)
PEBKAC.

yeah I had trouble building my 1st colony ship too but then after looking for about two seconds I found The shipyard tab on the starport screen.

I have finally found and able to find again...the way to get to the shipyard and build ships, AND, how to get them from here to there! Also, I found out how to double-click a scientist to get them selected.

I've got to say, this is ridiculous! Shouldn't be in modern computer gaming. Thanks all for your feedback! The game is a lot better when simple mechanics get working.

You don't need to double-click. And as I said, the "how to get them from" is the same way as any strategy game.

Oh, to be reliant on youtube to play a game. Why did they ever stop teaching trial and error in schools? It works! And it allows people to do things without being reliant on others to show them how.
