Is there really a functional difference between planet classes?
I've heard before from a few people that there's slight differences in the amount of districts likely to spawn on certain planet classes. Supposedly, on average, dry planets have more energy districts, wet planets have more agricultural districts, and cold planets have more mining districts. Despite hearing this from several people, I can't find any kind of guide or official source that actually lists this as fact. Can anyone confirm/deny?

The only difference between planet classes is habitability. This can be ignored through tech later in the game. The amount of each district and the size are randomly generated at the start of the game. If you want the class of planet to matter as far of type of districts, you will have to use mods. Planetary Diversity is a good one. It adds 32 different types of worlds and the author keeps it updated.

I have noticed differences in district layout, but I haven't noticed it being tied to planet type. If anything, it seems to be random.

the biased planetary deposits were introduced in version 1.8
a lot of stuff was changed in the meantime. don't know if that concept was translated to the current game version or got lost along the way.

that's the dev diary where the change was explained (scroll down to the "Planetary Deposits" paragraph)

I can also vouch for Planetary Diversity... between it and Guilli's Planetary Modifiers, no two planets will ever really feel the same.
