3. Synthetical ascend via the Synthetics tradition tree and associated Special Project
On top of that, in my experience, the uprising is always pathetically weak. I'm going to guess you under built fleets because the AI empires on a lower difficulty weren't giving you enough trouble to justify doing so.
So an easy solution next time is to just build a bigger fleet, have more allies, or if you think you're going to lose, take the decision to become the uprising.
at the same time, i was the most powerful in the galaxy on captain setting, so i'm unsure how i could have been militarily underpowered - but we'll see next time i suppose
