They are not going to make a sequel to a game they have not even settled on the basics of yet.

Once Stellaris enters maintenance mode and DLCs are not accompanying core mechanical overhauls for a year or two then I would expect them to start work on Stellaris 2.

If they made a sequel that was exactly the same game but with end game performance at higher difficulty settings it would be worth it for that alone.

With all the changes the devs have made to Stellaris, we are up to Stellaris 3 or 4 already. Stellaris 2 would be a setback.

Yup I know.

With the way the economies around the globe are going and with the way games have been releasing with less and less content, pretty much in unfinished states due to the budget cuts and the Stock holders wanting to see growth potential no matter the outcome.....I definitely wouldn't be buying into Stellaris 2 or even be hyped for it for some time.

Just look at all the DLCS dropping from all the major companies, Not optimized, half finished, less content and most importantly the prices WENT UP. They aren't getting the growth from bringing in more people, so they have to milk their current customers for everything their worth. Have to have the stock in the green always.

It would likely take years of DLC just to get it to even compare to Stellaris, which has had years of DLC. And with the developers given less time and resources to pump out content, I have no hopes for anything new.

Just look at how BG3 was Slammed for releasing with TOO MUCH CONTENT.

And then when you think about whats actually profitable for companies, Cosmetics? That One World of warcraft mount made more money than the entirety of Starcraft 3.

I hate modern gaming....Okay rant over...tea time lol
Well said.

I just saw an ad for something called Stellaris: Nexus from Paradox and it made me very sad. Google at your own risk.

Not until 2030's most likely. Eu4 released in 2013 and is still going with DLC.

Take those graphics where the sun doesn't shine. I am entirely too tired for another "2" with actually zero real changes / upgrades / development, baring graphics that makes it run like crap and doesn't add anything of substance.

You can have both.

Paradox has enough gibbe gold by now. They had it bad in the HOI3 launch times. That is in the past.

What you hate is how capitalism works today. Seen lots of gamers like you. The only way to change this is to vote for politics that will want to change capitalism and how it works.

Until then, we will keep seeing post like this on gaming forums. Nothing will change but still lots of content to fuel forums.
