Astral Rift Genesis Event causing crash

Has anyone had an experience with this rift event causing your game to lock up and crash? I got it, and gives me the option for either seeds of knowledge, arm them, or emp blast. No matter what option I choose, the game locks up and crashes.

Is there any way to cancel rift exploration missions so I can get my scientists back?

I don't see a way to cancel the event but you could try disbanding the ship or firing the scientist.

You can't the character and ship are treated as missing in action. None of the delete options work. I just used the console to kill the scientists. Maybe that will stop the game from crashing. Although the ships won't be back for 3 million days.

New beta-patch helped to me^

Please note that the 3.10.2 "Pyxis" Open Beta is an optional beta patch. You have to manually opt in to access it.
Go to your Steam library, right click on Stellaris -> Properties -> betas tab -> select "stellaris_test - 3.10.2 Open Beta" branch.

still getting a similar crash, ill be in the middle of a civil war and an AI empire is doing an astral rift, i think, causing the game to lock up and freeze the game
