Questions concerning Shroud-Covenants
Can annybody help me? I got a few questions the Stellaris-Wiki couldnt answer, concerning forming Covenants with the 5 Shroud-Entitys.
Thx in advance!

1.)
There is a list on the wiki showing which Ethics, civics, traditions etc gather you favor with the 4 main shroud-patrons. However this list seems to not change over the last couple patches. Even so tons of new civics that would fit into the different themes have been added (for example "Letters of Marque" would fit perfectly with "Naval Contractors" & "Private Military Companies" for the Eater of Worlds).
Does anybody know, if this list is still up to date?

2.)
I tried to figure out a way, to attract the End of the Cycle (increasing the chance that he offers a covenant). As I understood it, the game rolls for the 5 patrons with basic-chances of 25 "%-points" for the 4 major patrons and 2 for the End (2% chance for the End to appear).
The only way to increase the points for the End is by choosing not to make the deal in the 3rd Quest for the Knights of the Toxic-God (x5). This increases the points to 10, making it a 9% chance.
However, i can reduce the chances for the other patrons and thereby indirectly buffing the chances for the End. The most cost effective way should be chosing the ethics Xenophob+Egalitarian+Pacifist and to take the "Inward Perfection"-Civic. this should result in 3 points for the eater, 8 points for Instrument and Composer, 18 points for Whisperers, while the End is still at 10 points. This should result in roughly a 25% Chance for the End to appear.
Is this caclulation correct? If not, where did I make a mistake?

3.)
Is there an easy way to check the mechanics for the covenants in the game files?
In that case I could search for the answers myself, without having to rely on testing or asking ;)

Thx 4 the help.

Okay, I ran a small test myself for Question 2.) ... and it seems my calculation was mostly correct.
One small mistake I made is, that you cant avoid to gain favor for either Instrument or eater, because you either are at war or not (tertium non datur). I chose war, since eater has lower chance with my built anyway.
I saved 1 month before the "commune with the ineffable" concluded and we get our first offering of a covenant.
I tested only 16 times because of constant game-crashes (srsly, fix this).

Expectation
Eater: 25 *0,3(pacifist) *0,7(inward perfection) *1,6(at war) = 9 (8,4)
Composer: 25 *0,3(xenophob) = 8 (7,5)
Instrument: 25 *0,3(egalitarian) = 8 (7,5)
Whisperers: 25 *0,7(inward perfection) = 18 (17,5)
End of the Cycle: 2 *5(Knights of the Toxic god) = 10
9+8+8+18+10= 53
->
Eater: 17%, Composer: 15%, Instrument: 15%, Whisperers: 34%, END: 19%

Observation
Eater: 3 -> 19%
Composer: 1 -> 6%
Instrument: 2 -> 13%
Whisperers: 6 -> 38%
End of the Cycle: 4 -> 25%

Considering the small sample-size this kinda speaks for my calculation.

I didn't really know the answer to your questions, but on whether the wiki is current I was gonna suggest you look at the revision history of the page to determine your answer. The back edits of a wiki are how I judge its freshness.

Yeah some things don't make much sense, example the Whisperers as Megacorp only gets boosted by Criminal Heritage (okay...) and Refurbishment Division (?). While Ruthless Competition would fit exactly to the Whisperers profile.

If you have doubts about the exact workings of game mechanics, you should search the gamefiles with a tool like Notepad++.

Start by looking into files with conspicious names, if that doesn't give results then use the "Find in Files" function. This has helped me a lot to figure out large parts of Crusader Kings 3's very obscure and undocumented mechanics, for example.

One problem is that the scripts often use different words for things than they have in the game; example the "Intuition" leader trait is internally referred to as "Carefree".
So your search may not find any results at all, then it takes some manual detective work.
