How to get Favors?
Hey, fairly new to the game here but getting a pretty good handle on it so far. Currently playing a game around the year 2350 and acting as a vassal for a stronger race. I am about to be comfortable enough on my own feet to gain independence, but need some favors to do so (I do not feel comfortable taking them on just yet).

So how do I gain favors?

Thank you in advance!

Assign a diplomatic envoy to the target empire to improve relations.
Over time the envoy will create "favors" that empire owns you that can be used in diplomatic treaties or the galactic senate.

Gaining Favors this way requires investing in the Diplomacy Tradition tree, for the record. You'll get a whole lot of nothing out of this otherwise.

Ah, you are right. Forgot to mention that, sorry. Thanks for correcting.

Favours speed up things, but hardly are required once you stop neglecting diplomacy :)

One boon of diplomacy is: halving the cost to negotiate subjugation terms.
