The team is aware and is working on resolutions for the crashing issues on Mac. In the meantime, you can roll back to a previous version in order to play:

Click Stellaris, Properties, Betas tab and choose 3.9.3 from the dropdown.

These are so common, it just makes you wonder why the team wasn't aware of those before.

Same, after the latest release (I pre-ordered AP), so thought the latest release would just add that DLC. Anyway, a couple of decades into a build and it just crashes back to the Steam UI.

It's difficult for game studios to test PC games because all players have different custom configurations and software. Therefore, there are always recommended requirements for the game. If you're using something less popular, like Linux instead of Windows, you're more likely to have software conflicts.

I'm not saving game dev and testing isn't hard, because it is. But at least with the mac version your unlikely to have to deal with different hardware and OS specs.

Course my game is broken on linux, and has been for a few weeks.

doesnt take a rocket scientist to recognize 90% of players between windows mac and anything else are crashing randomly every 1-2 hours. On top of that totally desyncing if you try to resume the game in MP or reconnect to your empire

what's so hard to test about a few operating systems and bare minimum requirements my guy, this is childs play compared to the actual programming and game development side of these content releases . There's even such thing as virtual machines, testing things like this should NOT be a problem im sorry. The Stellaris team has done much larger releases and testing phases than this minuscule dlc and small sum of changes, this is fully because of their lack of testing, foresight, and effort.
