Impossible to Unlock Dark Forest Achievement?

I've completed the origin and chosen the fanatic purifier civic, I started the game with no other empires, no pre-FTLs, no pre-sapients, no enclaves, no mauraders, no fallen empires, no crisis, no caravaneers, and no L-cluster. I'm still not getting the achievement. Anyone have any luck getting this achievement? If so, what did you do differently?

I think there needs to be at least 1 ai empire but idk. Also heads up, you don't get it if you use the crisis galaxy destroyer weapon. You must invade and destroy nations in the classical way.

Man that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded, that entire Dark Forest game was annoying from start to end just to not get the achievement because I got bored af and wanted to end the game early, just going to exploit it then
