Uh OH. New Outliner
New outliner adds a LOT of back and forth micro. Any way to get it back to the old outliner w/o a mod? Everything else about this expac is wonderful except the new outliner which I am not fond of

Yes I agree, not only has it broken every UI mod, but it adds needless additional clicking...

Yes, makes no sense to have this split into two tabs within the same UI element. Playing in 4K there would be plenty of space to have them side by side.

I like it, cuts down on a lot of up and down scrolling later in the game

even in 1080p there's enough space, so much 'white' space could be utilised like all the outliner mods show xD

Haven't seen the new UI yet, but yeah I was wearing out my scroll wheel late game as well.

While it needs tweaking, the UI split will benefits very large/late game (especially if you are using Gigastructures mod for example) where the megastructure and fleet list become massive, even on larger monitors (27+inch etc).

I would have had civilian ships on the planet tab, and move the outliner as far up on the screen as possible, and given a hot key like "tab" when not selecting anything, swap between the outliner tabs.

But It DOES increase the clicking for the majority of the early game.

I Definitely see It being useful for late game.

I wish there was a toggle So I could keep it the old way until the scrolling becomes too obnoxious.

At the moment It does feel...whats the word... Jarring? Not the perfect word, but It does feel awkward, like it doesnt flow properly.... I need to give it more time though, It could just be me overreacting to change lol.

Well instead of the scrolling, you now have to permanently jump between the fleet and planetary tabs

Literally nonstop
You can set keys for fleets and plantes by strg+number

But i would love it, if i could place the tabs next to each other. Like having one, two, three or all four lists nexte to each other, so i dont have to scroll that much in exchange for a little less space for my star map.

Yeah, I agree with the haters here. It makes early game so frustrating to manage. I just want all the info in one place, especially when there's not a lot of info to manage.

I really hope they add a way to toggle between the two views so that we can use the old way early game then the new planner once things get cluttered in mid-late game.

This is the worst change to the game for a long time for me. :/
is there an way to hotkey this?

Maybe they hired that Victoria 3 UI developer. Because you need a real talent to ruin and screw working UI and only Victoria 3 devs can handle this enormous task.

There was a mod "Tiny UI" that managed to cleanly fit it all down into a single panel that involved no scrolling. Now i am literally micro managing a tab in the early game hundreds of times. Its next to untenable honestly.

Even with tiny outliner you'll eventually have to scroll.
