The reason for me were two things:
1. I love the exploring part of the game the most and wanted to have it nearly exclusive for me.
2. I wanted to see how robust the "past-game-creation"-creation process would be in generating new empires. And I was pleased with what I saw - so much that I played several such runs.
On a side note: Newly evolved empire species are tasty. Nom-nom-nom.
I suggest Zenith of Fallen Empires to become an actual Fallen Empire not just a Fallen Empire in name only.
Well i guess it's not even in name only, more like Estonia trying to be Scandinavian situation.
The result is hopefully a sort of EU4 like colonization of the galaxy.
Haven't tried it but i kind of want to now.
