Is feudal society nerfed with the new leader cap?
Have come back to Stellaris after a while. My favourite tactic used to be scientist spam at the start of the game, I was happy taking the unity hit for early bottlenecks and then I could dismiss them. Even better with feudal society where there was no unity hit! But now that there's a cap feudal society isn't as good as it was right?

as far as i know the cap just increases upkeep and lowers xp gain for going over it

Hmm maybe feudal lords is still good then as it nullifies the unity unkeep for going over. However, you can get stuck with a lot of scientists

they'll die eventually. or late game one might get their brain shoved into a science nexus.

Apparently feudal and Psychic is the new OP broken meta build!. (link to Montu plays) stellaris. This play through shows every click and has no iron man breaking mods. It features crazy scientist spam.

Yeah, apparently each psychic trait scientist give you research boost, so you keep buying them up, and as long as they are assigned to a science ship they have no unity upkeep.

What he doesn't tell you is that specific build pretty much requires every DLC and it is less broken if you are missing some of them.

Honestly at this point I'd assume more people still playing had all the DLC than the other way around.

I don't know about every aspect of the build, but the part i mentioned about no upkeep for scientist as long as they are employed (assigned to a ship) seems to work. As long as you have the DLC where you can choose Feudal, and psychic ascension.

Now that it is known and what a research advantage it can give you, I would be surprised if Paradox doesn't adjust it.

Sure is OP. It is tech rush on steroids. In 2260 I control half the galaxy and is way beyond everyone else in tech (except for FE of course).

Scientists are not bad to get rid of.
No retreat, no cloak, dragon food.

Admirals are not bad to get rid of.
No retreat, no cloak, dragon food.

For governors and generals noble estates should also offer "out of the window" executions.

LOL!

And of course the first leader I need to get rid of is a governor! (-pop growth)
No dragon food for him. :(
