Rollback Glitch?
It used to be possible to rollback to a prior version via the Beta participation option, for 3.9 that still works - reverting to 3.8.4, unfortunately that is where it ends.

The 3.8.4 game menu now consists of questionmarks with no functions enabled.

I don't suppose anyone has a workaround for that?

It is rather frustrating yes :-( A rollback is at this point the only way to play the game with a rather excellent (but aging) mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2389164674

It's just odd. The game menu should revert to the 3.8.4 version's menu, but it doesn't.

Are you using ui overhaul dynamic? Thats been updated to 3.9 and I think that might be causing it, no idea if we can get the old version back

To answer above questions, I use the base English version. But no, not UI Overhaul Dynamic.

I've run some tests, but I can't put my finger on it. It makes me wonder if perhaps the main menu isn't simply not part of the game codebase, but the launcher's.

The 3.8.4 rollback loads perfectly fine for me, old main menu screen and all.

Disable all of your mods, load the game - that should fix it. If not, chances are that something went wrong when the game rolled back, so do a clean reinstall - uninstall, clear the folder of anything that remains, install again.

Dude, I know it's hard to admit sometimes, but the problem is only on your side, change the language from French to English, disable mods and enjoy!

Users with this issue, can you advise what (if any) mods (especially UI mods) you're using? We're trying to narrow this issue down. Thanks!

Yeah same issue here. I was having problems with crashes as soon as I clicked on my home planet so rolled it back, it seemed to work fine for the guy who told me to do it who had basically the same modset. UI Overhaul, Real Space 3.8, NSC2 Season 8, Light Bordersm Tiny Outliner v2, Gigastructural Engineering, More Events Mod

I've heard if you disable UI Overhaul it works though
virtuozzo Sep 14, 2023 @ 1:25pm
Well, I did an uninstall, reinstall, no mods. No difference.
