Sapient Combat Simulations safe to use after/during Contingency?

So, the Contingency hit my Galaxy but since I already formed the Galactic empire and 3 of 4 AI worlds spawned inside my enemys territory im managing it fine. Also I used almost no Robots.

However I never researched the Sapient Combat AI tech out of fear of losing my fleets to it. Despite the advantages being huge I was always too scared. I still have the option to research it and after all im already IN the Contingency so what happens if I research the tech now and install it on my ships? Will it have an effect on the Contingency? Those combat bonuses are really tempting..

You get penalized when you're in combat with them. Don't bother using Sapient Combat Computers until the Contingency is defeated. If you're a Hive Mind or a psychic empire it doesn't matter; Gestalt combat computers aren't affected by the Ghost Signal and Precog combat computers aren't either because they use space magic and not ais.

Thanks for the Info! I'm a psychic empire but haven't gotten the precog combat computers tech yet and have not been aware of it.

Yeah, its a rare drop from the Shroud. Just keep visiting it and eventually you'll come across it.

Well, all depends on your difficulty and crisis setting. I had the Sapient Combat AI tech and still wiped the floor with the Contingency right at the start.
You get penalized, yes, but not much they can do if you throw 10x times the fleet power at them.
They still melt like snow on a hot plate.
Did the project to get rid of the signal AFTER i already trashed all their fleets.

Again, all on normal difficulty and normal crisis strength of course.
