new paragon traditions how good?
Idk what to think of these traditions i can't seem to judge wether they're good to take or not.
so what are your thoughts on this?

also with an seemingly ever increasing number of trees, and still only the same limited amount of picks. what do you people pick in what order :P?

Atm i still pick Discovery > Harmony > Prosperity as my first 3 for my necro's which i love to play. with my other picks being a bit unsure. two of them are deffinetely psionic and politics. just the order depends on the game.

They are no good at all. As well as paragons, council, DLC itself and what is the most disappoining thing, 3.8 update itself. They spoilt the game. The best thing so far is to revert before 3.8 update.

I don't think they will fix anything. All the old players are annoyed with new mechanics, but they do some bizzare stuff, like renaming traits so that they were gender friendly, rename council positions, etc. Even thing like automated exploration for science ships is broken, because if you switch it on the ship goes from one part of galaxy to another, completely ingoring neighboring unsurveyed systems.

There is even more micromanagement with leader traits. And most leader traits are broken. It is so stupid to have the God-Imperor of the Galaxy, who gives you bonus of 4 apples per month. This is so dumb and ridiculuos... It could be done only by people who never played Stellaris.

You have very stupid events which literally asks you to either lose 300 alloys or get 400+ consumer goods or learn new lasers technology (it is about pre-ftl observation). It happens all the time and it is so stupid and unreal...

Sorry, I am out of your topic... And concerning your topic traditions are spoilt a long time ago. You remember they added Subterfuge a long time ago, which was very weak, but at least it was a tradition! Then they reworked traditions and turned ascension perks into traditions. They are so mixed and uneven now, some of them are completely necessary, and some are total garbage, they are bad even for role-play. Politics tradition is a joke. These two new traditions are completely useless, however it is impossible to play with this leader cap and that's why you allways will take Aptitude. You cannot but take it. As well as ascention tradition. Which leaves you very limited. Actually, your gameplay will be always a hard choice between a couple of very necessary traditions.

I'll just drop in to say that I really, really appreciate the larger number of Tradition Trees. It makes for objectively good gameplay to be forced to make hard choices.

As for what I choose, I haven't played any v3.8 yet (will probably buy the new DLC in a few days), but I'm still thinking Discovery, Expansion, Diplomacy, Harmony, Prosperity, then something (Path Tradition?) and then finishing with Supremacy,

Although of course the changes to the specific effects might change that. I haven't looked closely.

Supremacy is most useful as first or second pick because of early game wars.

Oh man. sorry you feel this way. personally i really like the new leader system and the friends i play with love it too. you can actually select yourself what your leaders should be like and not leave it up to chance as much. and leaders actually feel more meaningful and personal now. unlike before where i didn't give a single ♥♥♥♥ about them.

as for the auto survey idk if they added these options in 3.8 or earlier but there's a bunch of them. maybe one of those caused that? otherwise that for sure 100% sounds like a bug.

now you mention it. those early game wars are becoming more and more brutal.

Council-based tradition is meh.
Leader-boosting is good (agenda for experience is a relly sweet thing once you're going over leader cap).

But if you're starting with Discovery and Harmony - even council-based traditions could be good for you :) No offense, but it isn't optimal choice at all.

Well Harmony was pretty nice before and i guess i got kinda stuck on that. I am starting to change my mind on it now :P Discovery is still my love for first pick tho. i go HARD on that surveying.

Try: Discovery -> Prosperity -> Discovery.

In that case you're only unlocking Map the Starts in Discovery first and ignore until completing Prosperity (or Expansion if you're gonna wide).

I've found if you want to not be constantly attacked you need supremacy fairly early for the naval cap bump. Even if you dont want to be a conqueror keeping up your fleet strength dissuades other empires from eating you.

I think Statecraft is pretty good. It allows you to power-level your most important leaders by spamming out Agendas, gives you more leaders, and gives you a deterministic way to get Galactic Administration, which nets you a third Civic earlier than usual. It has been a first pick for me lately.

Leaders are quite powerful and flexible now, so you really can't go wrong with bonuses that make them more powerful.
