3.8.3 All my specialists are now unemployed workers; specialists positions empty
Might be a mod incompatibility, I will have to turn mods off and experiment.

Thoughts?

Having this same bug, dragging an older jobs related scripted trigger file from my patched mod backups worked as a duct-tape fix

UPDATE

Apparently 3.8.3 broke something within the merger of rules, multiple users report specialists not working and 0 hab across the board after this update.

Thank you Sir for a prompt and very helpful reply. I will put Stellaris on hold until patched / mod updated. The good news is that once patched, I can continue my ongoing game and lovingly overrun the galaxy - or at least that's the plan...:)

Having the same problem here. Game breaking, unfortunately.
Mods I use -
- Planetary Diversity (and its various specialist planet submods)
- More Events Mod
- Guili's Planet Modifiers and Features

The safest way to continue your game is going to be to play with the version of the game and the mods that were used to start it.

Ok - I think an update in the last few days to Planetary Diversity has fixed this one. From the change log:
- Fixed Servile trait showing up incorrectly

I went and checked, and I can now see Servile showing up on the species that was failing to promote up to Specialist and above tiers. :steamhappy:
