Why is the galaxy map filled with so many pings now?

Flashing lights and expanding green circles for EVERYTHING your science vessel does. Is there a way to turn this new "improvement" off?

It's driving me nuts too, closest I've found is to "toast" all notifications that have to do with surveying, anomalies, and primitive awareness levels... but even then it doesn't always work. I'm trying to find the source gfx file for it so I can mod it to clear so we can't actually see the pinging, but so far I haven't found it yet. I currently can't play the game with all that visual noise on screen, makes it extremely stressful feeling with so many flashing lights all at once...

The hot fix mentioned options to turn them off, but i cant find them, anyone else figure it out?

8000k hrs of stellaris, didnt think id find much to turn me away from this game. THIS issue is my nemesis that did the job. Its ridiculous.

Near as I can tell, it's occurring if you dismiss a notice without reading it (clinking and fully opeing)....which is dumb.

Yeah, they blow this update. Its the first one that make the game much worse than ever.

You can turn all notification off in the settings, BUT then you get voice information about events that are happening, without any visible notification at all and you definetly miss something. So thats no real choise.

Great Paradox using your community as quality department without checking your patches by yourself and raise the prices at the same time. At least try one game and fix the obvious bugs first.

New Bug, quit to main menu and reload for now
Right clicking to clear a notification seems to cause it
