Companies are there for profit. I am pretty sure they know where their sweet spot is for price and sales.
Also don't buy Paradox products for full price if you can help it.
They would still make plenty even if they cut all cost by 50% for as long as people can buy the game and no thats not a site im referring to
There's ALWAYS a discount somewhere, there's never a need to buy paradox stuff at full price.
Like happy and others have said. Just for a sale or use other sites. PDX will do as it pleases. Just be glad they aren't EA.
Right but you are talking about buying the full game right now after it had been out for years with a ton of updates. Most of us paid a little here and there over the years making it affordable
Wait for a sale.
they made 45% profit over fiscal year 2022 so while 50% cuts across the board sounds a tad much, they would still have a healthy profit margin with a 20-33% price cut.
that 45% profit is also very much not going to salaries.
but ofc, as long as people buy stuff at the high price there is not much reason to change.
in other exciting news they paid 20% tax, which is more than i would have imagined.
and if you got shares you got 60 eurocents.

Megacorps reign supreme. Are you a sad disgruntled mid-lifer? Go back to school and become one today ! Yikes I hope it doesn't mean what I thought I wrote.
Become megacorp today and never have to contend with finite ever... again
How does this magical and curious equation work you may ask?
The more finite the world is, and more infinite you are, the more it burns.
In turn, all excess converts into carnage
amps stands for agonizing moment per second
If you need more power apply more amps.
You can apply many more amps than there ever will be dollars so feast away!
I've bought the base game and all DLC from Steam, like half was maybe from Sale and same about half been full price. Bought 100eur worth in full price at one point when did not wanna wait until sale, but wanted more content after already got hooked after buying base game + like 3 DLC.
And tbh, no regrets - all good purchases and i don't mind supporting Paradox with even full price money. Even if they would just spend it all on pizza, cigars and luxury sluts for the board of directors, still worth it. :D I've enjoyed the game since day 1 i tried it and will again buy next week the Paragons DLC here from Steam.
Yes, maybe cheaper somewhere else every now and then, but i enjoy simple things like buying from the same place. :D Like part is just about being comfy with it i guess, i don't really spend my money on partying or alcohol, so i just put money on Steam Wallet so easy to just buy anything that needs then from the same place. Sort of with visible "budget" so do not overspend lol.
I think Paradox's DLC monetary model is great and fair enough. And nice that they are making profits. Means more content for us in future. :)
For a new player who wants it all, i'd suggest waiting for a sale and/or dividing purchases into few months, so not so big price in one go. Those months go fast anyways when buys first the "essential DLC" so you get most important content to play already.
NeeD To BuY It ALL
Welcome to megacorp trap theme
" it ain't about the discount "
lol if only i -could- have had bought all at once. Cannot really flex with money when i'm poor and unemployed. :D
But, still the little money i have, i don't mind spending to a good product that gives countless hours of entertainment value. So not expecting or acting like some that they are somehow entitled to get things for free.
Like pay up if enjoy a product. No need to always complain about prices. Electric bill and rent sucks to pay, i always feel good about paying for games, at least then feels like paying for something fun. Well i guess having a roof over head is also fun. Or more fun than living on the streets would be. :D
