DLC is missing, Overlord and First Contact , Can't load saved games

I own both, bought them last night.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game to no avail.

OK, this is crap..... I disabled the First Contact and Overlord DLC.....


So start a new game up.. without those 2 DLC's enabled..

GO to reload a save game and it says "Missing First Contact and Overlord DLC".

That I don't have enabled to begin with.

Click on stellaris on steam library, scroll down the news feed till you see "DLC" on the right side (maybe different if you have a different steam skin layout), on the DLC part there is a button that says "manage my dlc". Click that, in the new box that opens up turn on or off which dlc you want to use in game.

If its not in there something went wrong with the purchase and you'll need to contact steam support for help with that.

I've verified my files, I have verified my purchases, I have disabled the DLC... I then re-enabled it... Re-verified it....

Went into game and it says "Missing DLC."

Now I have disabled the two DLC's and am going to try to start a game and see if I can get a save file that will load.

OK, Disabled both DLC's and got it to work, now I will try to enable one at a time.....

Both in Steam menu and in Game Menu...

Enabled Overlord.....

Started game, waited for "Saving Game"... Quit game..

Went to Main Menu > Load game - Missing DLC.

I've heard these two DLC's kinda suck anyway... so I'm ok with that.

Try backing up your saved games and mod sets and then deleting the stellaris folder in documents.

It should not be an issue but check your antivirus/spyware program for any alerts. the launcher itself can trigger them and maybe those are causing the issue.

Yeh, thankfully I don't ever use Mods. At this point I am just trying to get the thing to save the previous game, so I am just trying to get it to work, baking up the save files would be just backing up "Test games" to try to get it to work.

As for the AV software, I've added Stellaris and the launcher to the "Reputation" thingy so that the Virus that parades as a scanner recognizes it.

I have to do that each time Stellaris updates.

Last night stayed up til 5am playing without Overlord or First Conact.

I was hoping to get into the Pre-FTL civs...

When I get the gumption, I am going to uninstall it all, and then reinstall all the DLC's one at a time. just to give something different a try...

Will also try to delete all the other Stellaris files so that they aren't trying to call a file that is corrupt and will save to an alternative separate folder off of the C:\
