New 3.9 Fruitful Partnership origin is F-tier
Am I missing anything? Has anyone else tried it yet?

I tried it out and it's probably one of the worst origins so far, how is this supposed to compete with something like Clone Army or Scion?

-You're reliant on the Tiyanki AI to spread seeds to planets, which is effectively random, slow, and in energy-alloy market costs twice as expensive. 3000 energy to activate a colony?!
-This origin's big point about colonisation is only useful early game, afterwards one half of this origin's is gone because there are no more worlds to colonise
-If seeds are planted on a colonised world you get a measly +5% society research/food/immigration pull, and you need to activate them to receive defence armies?
-Seed bombardment is legitimately useless because of no damage to armies, there's no reason to use this, especially after mid game where tile blockers aren't a big deal to remove

So is that it? defence armies, a bombardment stance that doesn't damage armies, and food?

Not every origin/civic/decision of how to play the game is about meta-min-maxing and being the steamrolling "pro gamer".
There is something called flavour and roleplaying.
And the best part about it? You still can steamroll and min-max and win the game.
Isn't it beautiful?

Yes, this origin is very weak, unless you want to roleplay as an alien dryad, there is no reason to choose it instead of something that will boost your scientific research.

True, sometimes its nice to choose one that is more for flavor and RP then the "best" one. Especially if playing with friends that are new to the game sometimes the more experienced player chooses the less optimal or even makes it as hard as possible so they can have a challenge on lower tier difficulty still

When it comes to RP any input on balance/mechanics being good or not is totally irrelevant because roleplayers can roleplay - regardless if something is good or bad.

So any input akin to "It doesn't matter if it's bad because not everyone wants to be competitive!" is just worthless input honestly. You can roleplay that the game crashing is the sudden end of the universe. You can roleplay anything as anything.

While a lot of that is true, some mechanics are simply never going to be viable for people who care about always playing competitive options. Some options are simply "roleplaying only" by design. There's never going to be a situation where sitting around with your fleet, creating blockers is going to be a good option, and that's not a balance issue - the "idea" itself simply does not make sense in competitive play.

But it's still a fun choice to have for roleplay.

I think the developers should slightly adjust the numbers for bonuses from blockers and natural reserves, I started the game as new preset plant empire 4 times and all 4 times my competitors had an "overwhelming fleet" compared to mine by the middle of the game no matter how hard I squeezed the juices from these fruits. Then for the next game I chose technocracy and easily became a galactic emperor with a population of 4000+ pops.

In my experience, the Tiyanki are really popular with young players, and I would imagine that making a playstyle in which they can cooperate with the Tiyanki will prove popular with them, even if it's kind of goofy for competitive adult play. I agree with the general principle that roleplay elements should be well-balanced from a gameplay perspective, though I wish there was more patience at large with purely ornamental features. But a benign origin that allows cooperation with the Tiyanki does sound like something catering to a niche demand.

Well, if the developers wanted to attract a young audience, they should just let you start as a Spore bacteria and grow into a Bubble amoeba by eating alien fruits and random fanatical purifiers. For adults it's the same, but you grow into a Cthulhu-like leviathan with Dryad priestesses specialist workers.

Well, if the developers wanted to attract a young audience,
they should add seed bombardment to pleasure seekers :)

I can't say who their intended audience is. Though the focus on story items suggests to me that they're more interested in customers who haven't already read the science fiction canon. Which, would kinda be the young and/or the incurious. I definitely know some young players who will be excited to try that origin. And yeah. There are some elements to the game which, like your joke will hopefully sail right over their heads until they're old enough to understand them.

Turn this argument around:
Any input in regards to being competitive is useless. Why? As there always was and is and will be the meta build that is the strongest. Even on release day of a game.
No need to create a new meta-insta-win faction/combination if already one exists as this would mean that all those who want to follow the new meta (which they often didn't explore for and by themselves but rather read about it in some game forum so that they basically play via guide and via the playstyle of someone else) would do that and nothing would change in any competitive match. They all would choose the same option: To be "pro" and "meta". As they did before and as they will in the future again.

Flavour suddenly makes way more sense in a 4x title.

Did your post make sense to you? At least to you?
Because if not, I'm asking myself why you're writing something when you don't have something to say. Lonely?

Lol cope and seethe the new origin is objectively crap and a waste of time to play. Why would you be ok to play an inferior origin. That just sounds like some hardcore copium
