My transports have Subspace Drives?! I got Hyperdrives already!
Help! My transports are being built with Subspace drives when I NEED hyperdrives to reach my target destination. I already had hyperdrives researched before I made transports. Is there any way to fix this?

But subspace drives can reach anywhere hyperdrives can.

Some of those galactic edge systems are unreachable by Subspace drives and need Hyperdrives to reach.

you're playing with one of the early exploration origins? All the lists should have 2 ship classes for transport/civilian ships. One with the jump drive and one with the hyperdrives. Annoyingly, the early jump drive option never goes away.

Managed to "fix it" by upgrading to fusion reactors. At least that problem is over.

Yes. Your ships have to have the power to use those engines.

Should not be problem TBH since adding hyperdrives to transports is start for everyone not using Eager Explorers.
But at least a work around did fix the problem.

It is an origin. Different starting techs, some unavailable to other origins, different requirements in energy for same tech name.

Also clone vats require energy whereas other origins are able to colonize a new world without the same amount of energy, by copulating.

This is a civic, not an origin. But at least the problem was fixable. Guess this thread can be used for future reference for other Eager Explorers.
