Paradox and custom AI empires
ok, i have a question.
I used some mods to create several mass effect empires. nine of them precisely and force spawned them all.
On galaxy creation i choose exactly 9 ai empires to spawn thinking that the game will spawn just the 9 custom empires i force spawned but the game in addition to mine 9 force spawned custom empires generated 9 more paradox empires.
I tried another way, i set the number of AI empires to zero and force spawned my custom empires and the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me once again, it spawned the caravaneers, artisan troupe and some others but not empires, paradox or my own custom ones.
So my question would be, how the hell do i spawn JUST my custom empires?

Caravaneers, Fallen Empires, and others have a different setting (or none at all). "Empire" in the galaxy creation setting refers to actual empires, the ones that grow and develop.

Some origins are mutually exclusive (either one spawns or the other), others are unique (only one can spawn), some home systems are also unique (Sol, for example), and non-random star types (anything that isn't just "Random") are also unique (for whatever reason).

To give you more accurate information, I'd need to know the actual builds you made.

I just want to know whether or not there is a way to stop paradox generated AI empires that "grow and develop" as you put it from spawning at all and only use my own custom ones

Yes, there is. It's by doing what you did, but also taking into account the things I said when creating your own empires. Also, disable pre-FTL civilizations and don't use origins that require another empire to spawn, such as Hegemony and Scion (just to name two examples, there are more).

Again, without more information about how you made them, to figure out why they can't spawn together, I can't be more specific than that.

so if i force spawned 9 custom empires and set the AI empires slider to 9, that should have spawned just my 9 custom empires, Right?
If so, than i am guessing that the mods i use are messing something up

Yes, but:

I used several mods which add new origins and i use the starting systems mod, you know the one that has mass effect starting planets, like Thessia or Palaven.
I didn't use vanilla origins or starting homeworlds when creating these empires

Then it's almost certainly a mod issue, yes.

Just a tip, regarding these mods that add more stuff for empire creation: back up your custom empires when the game updates, before you launch it. I've had a mod that wasn't properly updated force me to redo all my custom empires because all their ethics, origins, and so on were essentially reset.

How exactly have you concluded that the game spawned additional random empires at galaxy generation? Is it just because you met them during the game? That may very well have been primitives developing ftl, empires revolting from their masters, empires spawned through certain anomalies, empires being created through subjugation status quo wars etc.

If you want to check what spawns at the start of the game, create a new galaxy with the values that you want, then use the observe console command and look at the empires in the outliner.

ok, thanks for the explanation and your time. Cheers

I was just playing the game and got into contact with them.
I was like "WTF? You are not supposed to be here".
So i encountered exactly 9 more AI empires in addition to my custom ones.
At first i thought that i didn't set the AI empires slider properly but no i got it on exactly 9 empires for my 9 force spawned custom empires.
But it's probably a mod issue as Orion Invictus says.

Seems unlikely to be a mod issue to me since as far as I know, mods cannot interfere with the random empire generation. It'd have to be a mod that spawns additional random empires randomly, but why would any mod do that?

I don't know. I need to find which one is it by process of elimination.
