Does evasion help against missiles and torpedoes?
One can get evasion from things, for example, the Titan's "Target Scrambler" that offers "+5 chance to evade" (is that "5 PERCENT" or five what, BTW), or more commonly an Advanced Afterburner with "+10% evasion." But missiles, torpedoes, and arcs boast of a 100% accuracy. Is that 100% invincible, or can I knock it down to 85% (or is it 5% THEN 10% to give 85.5%) with an Advanced Afterburner and a Target Scrambler?

I wonder, because if i can knock that down, evasion options can be especially good to specialize a fleet to counter an enemy with lots of missiles, torps, or arcs. But if the 100% doesn't change ever, they would not be specific to that combat situation. Does any genius out there know?

Yes it help.

No, many missiles have at least mediocre tracking (+they get bonuses from it) so don't expect even corvettes be able to dodge them reliably aside from one-two lucky rolls.

P.S. Seems you're missing idea of how Tracking working. Tracking stat used to counter Evasion ONLY (so 60 Tracking doing nothing if evemy have 0 Evasion, but will allow you you to hit with full accuracy enemy with 55 Evasion).

Also evasion bonus adds a percentage of a percentage. If a cruiser got 20% base evasion and your titan adds 5%, that's 21%.
You want the snare aura and maybe the repair aura.

If you build missile boats equip them with picket computers. The torpedo computer offers nothing special, and does so to missiles ONLY.

Oh good, thanks for the explanation, that's exactly what I was trying to find out. So it seems that tracking does not increase accuracy per se, but only to the degree that it lessens evasion. Thanks for the reply.

Hey, mss73055, good tip on the "picket" computer. I usually just put them with artillery, thinking that the longer distance would keep them out of a lot of danger. But I see the picket computer has some advantages for missile boats - and yes, I usually have a few in each fleet, and they're effective.

But I don't get what the snare aura would offer, forgive me for not figuring it out. Could you say a little more about that?

That's true for corvettes. Cruisers should pick Artillery computer with missiles.

In short - enemy fleet will have less survivors after loosing a combat, especially if their admiral a low-level one.
