Drill Rampage, Available
"An ancient excavator is digging deep into a giant asteroid. If we can stop it before it gets crushed by debris we might be able to learn something about the construction"

This popped up in my Situation log after I had finished surveying the system containing it. But when I click on the "research it" icon, nothing happens. It is labeled "8802-M11" and underneath the label, printed in red, it states "has 1 construction ship(s) in orbit".

Why am I not able to research it? I have none of my construction ships in the system. Am I supposed to bring one there and try to put it in orbit around it?

You need to research it with a construction ship. Select it, right-click the exclamation mark icon next to the system with the project on the galaxy map, and click the research special project option.

Yea that. What you're reading is the condition and whether it's fulfilled or not.

Plus there are more stuff that requires construction ships, you will see as you play more.

True this, but I'll say this from a modder pov, there's one that requires 3 science ships and 10 construction ships but prior starts as a very rare chance to locate basically a broken ringworld part in space, that is insane :D
