In addition to the origins there's also archeotech, stealth mechanics and permanent buffs from researching pre-FTL civilizations and some new civics on top of that but that's about all we know so far.
Maybe it's overpriced for the content it offers or maybe it's actually worth it every penny but either way you're not obligated to buy it.
Assuming you don't have a lot of expendable income, we have no idea what your unique economic situation is, and therefore can't determine "worth" for you. Imo, $20 bucks is throwaway money, but for all I know, that's food for a month for you.
If you can't risk $20 on the DLC being underwhelming, don't buy it. If you can, then there's no harm in buying it.
Also, we don't only get a bunch of ArcheoTechs (14?) but also an unknown number of Insight Techs, presumably at least 8 or 10.
Maybe the OP just doesn't like the concept of Story Packs. That's his problem. I like them a lot, and I'm glad they're back after such a long hiatus.
Peak PDX 'fans'.
The "C" in DLC stands for "content" which is a mass noun, it doesn't have a plural and so doesn't get an "s" added to it.
(And before anyone says it, yes "contents" is also a word, but it isn't the plural of "content".)
So unless your mod makers are making content that's relying on DLC code, don't ever buy ,
And if you're still going to buy, atleast don't do it on steam, since you can get every single paradox DLC at 50-67% discount even on release day, by buying from a company that does not charge 25-33% of the sale and regional pricing difference.
So I vote with my money for Stellaris.
You don't pay => Stellaris team gets less funding => Eventually it closes => You play some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games instead
not really expecting much from stealth since so little of the marketing has gone into it.
sounds like a wait for big discount unless you really like an origin dlc.
This is both the most intelligent post on this thread and yet will change absolutely nothing. Most people (including myself) will continue to use DLCs.
