Dark Forest Origin (Sol)

Just started a game with the Dark Forest Origin and set the starting system to [Dark Forest: Sol] and it seems like just a regular Dark Forest origin start, not similar to the Sol system and no special named systems/planets. Am I missing something or is this a bug?

No such origin exists, so I'm guessing you're using a mod that adds it. Report this as a bug on the mod page.

They're referring to the new Fear of the Dark origin.

If you are modding the UNE, for the origin then you need to select the ‘Fear of the Dark (sol)’ system at Civ generation.

Yes, it's the fear of the dark origin. Forgot that was it official name, I've been calling it dark forest to myself too long, my bad on that one.

I used the correct fear of the dark origin, and then set the system to fear of the dark (sol) started game twice after double checking the settings, both times not the the sol system.

No mods


Nvm: 3rd try and it worked fine no clue what was up

It's a bug. When saving a new Empire the Fear of the Dark (Sol) would revert to the default Fear of the Dark system. First I blamed my fingers, but the I changed my Empire name and saved again just to test it out, and the game did it again.

I had this issue as well and found a workaround on the Paradox forums. In your empire design, make sure everything is configured as you want it. Then, as the last step, go to the system select screen and change it to "Fear of the Dark - Sol." Then, immediately click "done" and start your game.
