Suggestion: More than two genders
I really like that species can have 0-2 genders, but it's really a shame that they can't have more. I think it'd be a really cool addition with a lot of player expression to have customizable genders for your species.
For instance, if you allowed any number of genders, with custom names and sets of pronouns for each, I could have a bee-like species with a queen gender (she/her/her/hers), a drone gender (he/him/his/his), and a worker gender (probably he/"/"/" or it/it/its/its, depending on how I decided to interpret it) - if I recall, you can already choose which gender your leader is, so if this system extended that, it would even be trivial to make it so that only the "queen" gender can be a ruler.
Obviously there's a ton of complexity and options you could add to this system if you wanted, but even at its most basic, I think it would add a ton of interesting variation to the species you can create, for what must be a somewhat small amount of work.

Bees still have just have female and male.
Except the workers are sterile females. :steamhappy:

Do you know how gender came to be in the first place? Having two genders was earth's way to deal with this new menace of atmospheric oxygen. You either live short and make lots of copies hoping one will not be corrupted, or you live long settling with the limited variation brought by sex.

"Queen" shares its root with γίγνομαι. Meaning of words drift through the millenia and across continents. More than 6000 years ago it meant "the one giving birth".

You can always just choose indeterminate to roleplay species with different gender/sex configurations. The game will use "they" as the pronoun for such species.

Role play- non game mechanics can be written into the species description and an heir title added to your leader descriptor. Other good morphic races are the snails (hermaphrodites) and some types of fish can change sex dependant on social pressures.

The ancient Greek only knew this verb in a passive form, as indicated by "-μαι". 2500 years ago the verb's original active meaning had become lost. This is part of a larger plot, where women lost active membership of old world societies. These are new events, even recorded, and not older than 3000 years.

Queen > kin > gune > gwen > wom-an > wom-b.
That's what 6000 years of hanging out in the Eurasian outback does to your speech :)

No.
There are only two genders and is ok like this.
You can choose "undeterminated" if you want.
But only 2 genders exist.
You can change yours, but only 2 exist.

Objectively untrue. Even if you want to do the whole "Gender = Sex"-thing to disqualify more than two genders in humans, there are species on this planet that have more than two sexes.

The dude is talking about alien races, not humans.
Pay attention.

" species with a queen gender "
There is already "undeterminated", there is nothing else but male-female.
Maybe hermaphrodit if you want to add it, but you can already choose undeterminated for it.

No, there is only male and female.
I mean, you only have to go to google, enter "species with more than 2 genders / sexes", and you'll immediately be hit with a wall of evidence against your position.
