How often is the game on sale?
I want to grab the game with all DLC except Overlord and Toxoids, I feel like this game and it's DLC are frequently on sale for half off, but I could be thinking of another series?

It is on sale frequently. Could be a few weeks till the next time.

Sales are common but the more recent DLCs have smaller discounts so you should get them outside of Steam if you can find a better deal.

There will most likely be a sale when the New DLC launches in a couple weeks.

Oh poop, missed a nice sale.. did just earlier buy 3 more DLC on full price from Steam, but so far enjoying Overlord and others i bought, so no regrets since having a fun game going on right now. :)

PS. Paradox guys, if you see this: Please gift me Synthetic Dawn DLC since i'm now broke after electric bill and buying your DLC's on full price, but i'm your number one fangirl and will totally promise to get my friends playing too, i'm giga social media influencer! :Gifting::UDG_Heart::UDG_Heart::UDG_Heart:

*Disclaimer: I'm not really a social media influencer since i just play all the time so who would have time to update Instagram? :CatStarla:

Oh and OP, imo Overlord gives some nice things to handle Vassals and so on, some origins and other cool thingies for more control on things. Well worth it, well at least for me. :)

If you don't mind getting the game and dlc´s from the other site than Steam, you should check eneba or allkeyshop. I recommend it.
I insist on using Steam to play Stellaris, but thank you everyone for the other info!

Ummmm, you do know that buying from outside Steam also gives you a Steam key?

So if I go buy it on Humble, I get a key that gives me the game and all the DLC I paid for that I can put into Steam?

Yes, you get a steam code.

Top Left of steam above Library you have "Games", Click that then "Activate a product on steam". And just copy/paste the code there.

Humble bundle is legit.

Well of course you will receive a key for Steam, I wouldn't even recommend any other client because of Steam Workshop supremacy. Other sites as eneba, humble or anything are simply sellers with keys, you only need to pay attention to which country is the key for, and also client. (Steam Global example)

In this case specifically you get a steam-key.
In general you have to check where the key you are buying is for. If you are like me you absolutely don't want EGS keys no matter how cheap they are for example.
Most important thing about it is that you buy all the DLC for the same platform.
