Peace with Space Amoebas?

There is a Galactic proposal coming up that says anyone aggressive with Space Amoebas will be in violation of galactic law.

I always seem to be hostile with them every playthrough, is there a way to no longer be aggressive with them?

Usually when you envoy/first contact them, upon success you sometimes get an option to choose a peace path that provides a "researchable" peace. Same goes for the crystal shards.

That has been my experience with the newest patch. I do recall there being a similiar mechanic in the older ones as well.

It depends on your empire ethics as to whether or not you get the option as a special project to pacify the space amoeba after completing first contact.

If I remember correctly, when the resolution passes you get the amoeba pacification modifier, irrespective of what options you availed yourself of previously.

i once had a baby Amoeba. that i made friends with and used him in my fleet's. 'but that was in the first play through. like when the game first came out on steam. not sure if possible now. with all the new updates. + haven't play it for a while.

With Xenophile or Pacifist ethics, you can pacify Amoeba and Crystals

Accordingto the wiki you get the option to pacify them once the resolution goes through.
