So the Cruisers could tank with small Plasma + Autocannon. But they are more effective at that with the Torpedo config using the Torpedo Computer (because they can't have Picket, and Line only advances to medium range which is above the range of small guns).
Alternatively use 3x Broadside, and M-size Autocannons + Plasma.
Then take a lot of Frigates with Neutron Launcher and Artillery Computer. Problem is just that these tend to explode as soon as combat starts. And there is nothing useful for their gun slot, besides maybe Null Void Beam.
Perhaps put a Tachyon Lance instead of Giga Cannon on the Battleships, because 6x kinetic artillery and the cruiser autocannons are sufficient anti-shield damage. The Lance also doesn't have minimum range (but the other L-weapons do). Problem is that the Lance fires before the KA hits so the first volley is wasted on high-shield targets.
However all this is at least 2 categories below "optimal". There are too many contradicting factors in the mechanics, mostly weapon ranges and ship computer behavior. And the attrition from bringing smaller ships is unacceptable.
Another thing you may wanna try is to go with Arc Emitter Battleships, they only have 10 minimum range. Then decide wether Disruptors or Cloud Lightning work better for you.
But same issue with the ship computers, Line only advances to medium range so the Disruptors won't fire unless the targets move in on their own.
Otherwise, the info about WW / SC battleships has been posted dozens of times already.
If you're going to go with artillery NL Frigates, give their small slot missiles.
Yeah the S- or M plasma on Line Cruisers are fine. I just wouldn't put them on the L-Slots in battleships, they totally underperform there.
