Love Stellaris and can't wait for the title. But I can't stand those forums!
I am giving up. Tried very hard to get access, but all I get is a MERGE screen asking me to remember an old forgotten password. When I press the forgot email I get nothing in my email.
Thank God for these Steam forums at least where I can participate in the Stellaris discussion.

Yeah I haven't even tried to sign up. Everybody has a gazillion little badges next to their names, thousands of hours of other PDX games played, and their sigs are half a page long. :) I like it here better.

Yeah it's quite elitist. Also you have to go through quite a rigmarole to sign up. Although I do like the fact you can rate comments.

I actually just created an account for the Paradox forums to see what was up, and I don't see anything elitist about those forums at all. There is a lot of friendly debate about the game going on, and a few not so friendly debates.

A huge positive for those forums is that the devs regularly post in the threads, and have actually adopted many suggestions by forum members into Stellaris prior to release.

I like the steam forums, but there is a LOT more stellaris discussuion going on over there, and I need my daily stellaris fix until May 9th. I definitely wasn't getting that fix here.

I used to frequently visit these forums. Pretty much daily, when I was playing HoI2 and Eu3. Back then wikis were not always up to date (as the Paradox Wikis are now) and lots of things I couldn't figure out only had answers in there.

I became lazy though, and don't fancy visiting more than one single, simple place (meaning Steam) so I stopped altogether.

If it's still as it was back then though, yeah, nothing elitist in there. I mean, people love them some Paradox games and they consider them to be pretty serious business, but other than that it's (or was?) a pretty charming place.

It is nice but don't do a 'Stellaris is a clone of DW:U because of these almost basic features that this genre almost needs' post

The Paradox forums are hundreds of times better than here. People tend to be far more mature and respectful. Where here is just tons of threads of random people trolling or just popping in to post "Lol Stellaris sucks because it isn't MoO" threads.

Though, logging into it is a pain.

Not to fear, cause a few of the developers peruse these rooms occasionally. Although my question about color blind options was posted nearly a week ago without a response.

Yeah I joined in the forums a long time ago, made a few post about CK2, but really became active recently. I find the Paradox forums actually a really decent place. The devs communicate regularly, and the Stellaris Meme thread is legit funny. I have not encountered any elitism.

I created a paradox forum account a few years ago, then kind of forgot about it. It was a pain to log back in initially, but I finally was able to reset my password, and I'm glad I did.

A lot of the posts on the steam forums are people complaining about the Paradox DLC policy, and it's kind of getting old already.

And all those little badges on the Paradox forums are from paople who link their steam (or whichever madium you purchase your games through) accounts to Paradox. It keeps track of which games/expensions you've purchased, and you get a badge for each purchase you made.
The equivalent of looking at someone's steam account to see which games they actually own.

Yeah, I know it's more mature over there. I don't care. I'm already signed up here. And I would have no icons next to my name compared to the hundreds other posters have. :)

Ok I retract my statement. Going to create an account. I tried years ago and you needed to link it to your game at the time I think if you wanted to post. Maybe it's easier now. It does seem friendlier.
