Details on Multiplayer?
Do we have many details mentoned in any of the streams or such so far regarding the multiplayer?

with 32 player games, I'd like to know how you go about playing over steam, saving game progress, syncing games etc.

I've done some looking but not come across anything yet.

I think it is safe to say that it will be similar if not the same as in CK2 and EU4.

One of the things we do know: multiplayer will be drop-in, drop-out. Meaning if 1 player can't make it, the rests can still play while the AI takes over whoever isn't there.

I've never played CK2 or EU4, so honestly have no idea, thanks guys.

If a game is running, you can join it (provided the host allows) at any time and simply take over a place the AI has been running. If you drop out, the AI takes over your place. Games sync at start for everyone in the lobby, and I *think* when you join, you get a transfer of the current state as the game pauses for the ones playing.

You are also playing the Host's DLC(Cosmetic's do not count)

Anyone have any insight into how well the hotjoin MP has worked with past Paradox titles? I've played both EU4 and CK2, but only solo -- never had the chance to experience MP with those titles.

I think the game had to be paused while a player picked a nation...And you picked a character/nation I think but not entirely sure

Drop-in drop-out seems promising. I'm planning to play this with a handful of friends and just kind of chip away at a large game over many weekends. Would be helpful if players could give control to AI if they are unable to attend.

It would be even cooler if the game could be server hosted, allowing whitelisted players to join a long game already in progress. If that were possible, I'd likely keep a server up and running 24/7 for friends and family to join whenever they had opportunity and time to play.

Any more news on this front? Love to get some more details as I'm looking for a turn a day 4X to replace the aging Space Empires for my gaming group. Thanks!

Would certainly be interesting to get to know other empires. Players should however be allowed to lock their empires preventing players apart from the AI to mess with the game.

I wonder whether the mod checksums will return. Might be interesting to know what you can edit without excluding yourself from MP
