Strange ship? SPOILERS
I acquired a prototype science ship from a place called the beyond and the strange thing is the scientist in command of the ship is simply not dying.
I'm playing as a human race and my people are living as long as a normal human does to around 80-100 years but my scientist is 176 years old at the moment.

This is the prototype - note the age of the scientist

So has anyone else had a ship like this and if so do you know if the scientist will stay alive as long as she is in charge.

Edit - btw i'm not certain but "the beyond" might have been the name of the planet where the anomaly took place.

The text from that anomaly makes it seem like the ship came from another dimension, rather then another planet, hence why it's called "science ship from the beyond". I had that anomaly in two of my games so far, but never played for long enough to see the effect on the scientist aging you describe. I always thought something could go horribly wrong, but so far nothing happened to the ship or the scientists on my end.
The thing is if the scientest stay's alive as long as they are in charge i would quite like to put a scientist with better perks or abilitys in charge.
Is this the event where the other option gives permanent +15% evasion to your whole race fleets?

A: Get a Science Ship
B: Deconstruct and study technology

An anomaly is detected then your science ship disappears while dealing with it then reappears with some of the crew missing then the rest of the crew reappears with the protptype ship and no memory of what happend.

Oh cool, didnt have that one yet!
200 years old and still going:steamhappy:
its part of a mini-chain of events ... when you discover a scrap-vortex your scienceship says that something happened and half of the crew disappeard ... then some month later a new ship spawned and you get a new science ship for free
The science ship you get from this event uses the same graphics pack as the Unbidden ships. I'm honestly surprised there's no follow up or consequence to using an Unbidden ship... I'm guessing it's an incomplete event chain like the Limbo one.
well is it really the scintist in thr ship?

hes not on that ship, but still should be dead for sure, so it's probably just bugged,

However I have such a ship too, I thought it soemohow changed ownership via some unbidden stuff

I just got this event. I also found what appears to be an interesting bonus. I also had the "Improbable Ceramics" event, which usually ends in you accepting that some things have no answers. However, I sent my Other Science Ship (commanded by the same scientist who got borked into the other dimension), and it changed the outcome. Instead of the "Why, why, WHY?" I got a research bonus called "Extra-dimensional Insights," or something like that.
