Yeah, I figured it would be something like that. As much as I like Paradox's games, I don't like their business strategy, especially with the piecemeal DLC for things like EU4. I looked at the total price at one point for all of it (not including base game) at like $100 - 200. Was blown away.
I don't think star/planet names will cost money though. they will just be parts of the free patches, so basically you are getting it just at a later date. I admit,personally I would have wanted to wait for them to release the game till next spring, but I understand they need cash flow and also this was an opportunity to introduce a ton of gamers to Hearts of Iron's release.
But yeah...
making your own mod meets all your criteria so far...
its free, and it can be whatever names you want.
if you want something done right, do it yourself.
And I do agree, EU4 & CK2 are good games, just holy crud, like for the music packs and the advisor portraits, and all, it's like "seriously? You're not going to toss us that as part of the bigger DLCs or for free?" It's just annoying.
Easiest way to keep things in order.
