Precursor event chain - Vultaum glitch
So I've been finding artifacts, 4 out of 6 so far, when I find the "metropolis" one. I send in the science ship, it starts the project and... finishes it? I mean, I receive the "project completed" message, the ship is now idle, the situation log has been updated to show the "metropolis" step completed, only it didn't give me an event description screen pop up like the previous ones, and the progress on the chain also didn't update. It remains at 4/6.

So I think it's fair to assume the event line borked somehow. I tried loading a previous save and doing the project again, only to arrive at the same conclusion. So it broke, and I assume this means I'm stuck at this stage on this game. Does anyone knows of a way to force it to update? A console command perhaps? Anyone with the same issue found a way to work around it?

Oddly enough I always end up stuck at 4/6 in those event chains too :/
I dont think I have ever finished a single one.

I had never found enough precursor anomalies until now. But in this game I tried to increase my chances to find anomalies in all the ways I could. And also avoided trading star charts, to give my science ships more ground to cover. It worked, I never found so many anomalies before, and all was going fine, until this happened. =/
Know the Same Problem and it's annoying. Because it's annoying already, to have that many Micromanagment in the First Place and then to stuck on finding Anomaly at all.

Yep, I stuck on 4/6 too, and.. I explored whole galaxy now! :D With 10 explorers under `map the stars1 edict, and 2 of them were +10 to discover anomalys..

And all 4 I found inside my borders. Not a single outside..
Running into the same problem. I was playing a single empire only game to check out the various precursor events and I keep getting stuck at 4 or 3 of the artifacts, can't find more.
The name of it is Blabla GLITCH. Use your brain.
If you wait, then miners or archaeologists will discover NEW precursor sites. I dunno if that's a new thing. I've managed to finish it ONCE, but I cheated the last one, and it spawned in an enemy empire, so I lost it by default. :c

That could very well be either a fix or a new addition. I can't really say because haven't played Stellaris since before the Asimov update, which seems to have included a fair amount of content. Hopefully it's fixed. It's one of the dangers of playing a complex game close to launch, bugs happen.
Many, many games and i only managed to finish it twice and both times it was the Cybrex chain. The AI scans anomolies as well so its basicaly a race to scan planets before they do. I never find them inside another empires borders (because they have been AI scanned) unless there are creatures in the system and therefore untouched by the dirty AI ships. If you dont find all 6 in the early game, you are basically screwed. Annoyingly, the AI seems to magically know the moment you have cleared out a creature-system (mid/late game) with every empire in the galaxy sending a science ship! making it impossible to scan all the planets 1st and therefore get an anomoly chance. Reward isnt that great anyway; a ringworld with some engineering and living metal. I assume reward is the same for all precursors? Wouldn't know as never done any others :(

Anyway, these precursor events still bugged. Just because they stays forever in situation log even after discovered first by AI. Yes, its slightly annoying.
