Check the 1st load screen. Look next to the British flagg. Is there a blue X on the sound? It was quite a pain until I traced it down...

Nop not that too ... . "I check in the launcher and I have the sound enable" . Also When I check the sound mixer of windows the app does show up and have the sound enable , but still no sound.
Q: Do the launcher have music?

Ok here's what I found - I am using Headphones connected on a USB port. As previously stated since I bought Stellaris haven't had any sound and still haven't played this game.

Now I deconnected my headphones and used my monitor speakers (that are awful btw) and using the monitor it does work.

Is there a way for me to enable sound with the USB headphones?

Thanlks in adv 4 Ur help guys

Hey Shaz,

had the same issue. Using headphones and sound stopped suddenly while playing yesterday. Thanks to this post, I figured out, that I just had to plug in/out the USB cable and it worked again.

Sound over USB has worked just fine here since release. Try unplugging the device as Camzillasmom suggest, and if that doesn't work delete the settings.txt file in your Stellaris documents folder. That "should" reset the detection for the USB Soundcard.

I found what was the issue . I am using Razer Chroma 7.1 Which has a soft (a controller) to create the 7 way sorround sound. I found that even turning off the software wouldn't correct the problem because even if you turn it off, there will be a process still runnning on the background. You can end the process in the task manager (if you list "more details")

Hoping this can help out some of you that have the same problem.

I could fix the sound error by setting the game to borderless window mode, afterwards I had sound ingame. In fullscreen mode I didn't had any sound.
