Miilitary dictatorship sjut adds the bonuses it states, and gives u a better chance to get ship upgrades/starport upgrades during tech choices.

It will have bonuses on defenses and damage.

Also, you should note that you can upgrade the ships as well. They obey the same class-upgrade as the base ship(so Firestorm in my example). So it can be funny to design one ship per Grand Marshall, so that you can upgrade just that one instead of all of your ships of the same class. It will lead to cluttering of the building screen later on, though. I've had 6 leaders so I have 6 Battleships based on them, plus several normal ones, meaning the building screen is a mess. Still, it's great fun.
Somehow I feel this post is incredibly confusing, sorry for that.
