How do I find Strategic Resources
I have a quest to find strategic resources and mine them. I discovered alien pets with new technology, but can't find them on the map. Is there a trick or something?

Once you research the tech needed if any are in the systems you have already surveyed they will show up, and from then on if there are any in a system you survey from then on they will now be visable. The pets are actually on the planet surface unlike all the other resources but i think you can still get them withought colonizing by building a station. Strategic resources are relativly rare though so dont expect to find some in every system and certain types tend to be clustered so will only find them in a few locations of the galaxy.

This came up in my search, so I felt compelled to correct it. Despite being listed as such in the expansion planner, Alien Pets are not a strategic resource, and you must build an Alien Zoo on their tile to get them. Same thing with Betharian Stone, which requires it's own special power plant. They can be exploited, but not traded. True strategic resources will show up in the system or galaxy views, once you research the corresponding tech, even on previously surveyed systems. What I can't figure out is how to locate the ones you're already mining without mousing over every system on the map.
