Getting the Jump Drive
So, I am with the intent of summoning the Unbidden in my current game but I don't seem to be able to get Jump Drive FTL at all in the research options. I have warred two Fallen Empires now and made sure to scan every battle debris and nothing came of it. What is the best way to get the Jump Drive technology?

Maybe this is actually not the case, but referring to wiki and another tech tree you need to
a) use wormholes to gain access to Jump Drive tech (previous wormhole techs are required) or
b) go for psionic techs to get Psi Jump Drives at one point which requires a fanatical spiritual government or a psi or maniacal researcher

Ok. Seems I won't be able to get it this playthrough since I'm playing a materialist Empire :/ Unless there is some way to get Wormhole travel while using Warp fields.. thanks for the reply :)

You could vassalize and integrate a nation using either version of jump drive, or you could just hope that some other empire attracts the Unbidden (That happened in my current game).

Edit: Don't expect too much though, their fleets are fairly weak at about 16k each and the tech you get from them is nice, but not groundbreaking, especially if you already have Fallen Empire tech.

Actually now that I am ingame I see I can pursue it through Psionics since I uplifted a fanatic spiritualists race. Now I need to discover how to get researchers from them, hopefully one of them will be a telepath

There's a tech that allows a law change to allow Xeno Leaders, if you implement that you can get leaders from any race in your empire, it should be noted though that the odds of getting any particular race is already relatively tiny (Unless you've maintained rather excessive racial purity programs of some sort), and getting one with a particular trait is obviously even tinier.
