-Purge all the population on it (if you allow purges). This is something I've done before and it actually does abandon the planet.
-Resettle the population (if you allow resettle).
-If you can't do the above, remove all of their food by deactivating the buildings that produce it, then let them migrate. If you can't migrate the last pop, perhaps build a robot then let the last organic pop migrate.
Some ethos dont get the purge option and even those that do often suffer bad happiness hits for doing it, specially if hes having to purge his own primary species.
Lets just agree it should be an option and its stupid it isn't yes there are convaluted and cumbersome workarounds but there shouldnt have to be.
I was correcting this completely false statement. I'm not interested in giving opinions on anything, just answering his question.
In the case of accidentally colonizing a holy world, the fallen empire will contact you before the war demanding that you remove it. If you accept, it will auto purge all your people there, abandoning the planet, and you will get the humiliated de-buff. This is similar to when some countries try to demand you to become a vassal before declaring war... minus the purging part.
1. Type "debugtooltip" in the console
2. Close the console and mouse over each pop on the planet. Write down the large ID numbers that are shown
3. Open the console and type in "kill_pop " and then the ID number, e.g. "kill_pop 123456789"
4. Repeat step 3 for each pop on the planet.
