"Grimacing Planet" anomaly broken?

I found an anomaly that gave me the choice to either give a planet +6 physics research points or spend enegery credits to have a 50% chance at terraforming it. I picked the terraforming option and it tells me my scientist has figured out a way to stabalize the planet for terraforming, and gives me a special project to do so.

I finish the special project and.... nothing happens? Am I doing something wrong or is this anomaly just busted?

I had the same.

The bug stems from a false even trigger upon success. It targets from for whatever reason. The bug was posted in the forum too, so it might be fixed in a future update. Obviously not in todays one as I just had it happen. So take 6 research until then. As a science faction taking the esoteric route seems wrong...
