So...about infested worlds....
Everybody here knows you can't take them back for some reason, right? When is this getting patched

Is it a glitch? I mean it makes a certain amount of sense that infested worlds would be too far go gone to save.

Bombarding them is -allegedly- supposed to turn them from infested into barren worlds but it doesn't work

In the game files it states that you can bombard infested planets and turn them into barren ones although this does not get you the planet back because barren planets are 0% habitability. There was a bug (at least in the press copies) where bombarding them did absolutely nothing.

And that bug still exists

Presumably it's the same with AI worlds, except I was able to invade one just fine. A fun bug in my current game is that any planet I invade magically turns into tundra, even AI worlds. And now my 12 elite psi armies are stuck on an empty planet in someone else's territory.

ffs, and this race is unbeatable because of this

Only thing I do for now to keep them from spreading is to assign a small garrison fleet to each of their world and proceed to continuously bomb them.

Yeah, you can imagine how happy I was when I lost my 25-tile Gaia world that had my ECC on it to the Scourge. That planet alone produced nearly half of my empire's mineral income.

Made me feel good when I captured their queen, though (although I expected, from reading the achievement, that it would be THE queen, not a queen).

How did you?

Having used pc_infested for player start planet I can tell you that they are hard-coded as a "special" barren world. I would assume you can terraform them.

It's honestly an event I personally found to be poorly implemented - after they invade there's MTTH for an injured queen to appear. The issue is that this MTTH is 70 years or so. Since I was strong when they arrived, after they conquered ~9 systems I managed to kill off all their fleets and laid down seven fleets across the seven planets they had, constantly bombarding them so they wouldn't build stations, and then had to wait a solid fifty years for that to trigger.

oh, Ok! doing the same - sitting on their planets with fleets, waiting for something )). Is the queen powerful?

this is a very annoying bug i had been able to get all ready for the attack and have thus far been able to smash their fleets with minimal loss but they just keep building more
