Ironman, mods and achievements.
How can I know which mods disable achievements? Back in EU4/CK2 the game would tell you if you were using a mod which modified the checksum but I can't find anything like this in Stellaris. Any ideas if the "National Emblem Pack" mod will work or how I can find out?

Generally, if a mod is just cosmetic or UI related, it won't affect Ironman mode. When you start changing things that have stats (ships, leaders, planets, etc.), that is when it won't work anymore.

Yeah, I was hoping there would be a notice like in CK2/EU4 to tell me if I can't use achievemtns because I don't wanna start using a mod and realise I cant get achievements later on.

The game still won't let you use Ironman mode if you use a mod that changes the checksum. That hasn't changed.

"still"?
Back in the other games you could use Ironman, but you just wouldn't get achievements.

If ironman is disabled when achievements are, then checking if ironman is an option would be the easiest way. I'm not sure how it works with Stellaris though.

Failing that, the easiest way is to make a note of the current checksum. Start up the game without mods then check the 4 number/letter string next to the game version in the lower left. Right now it's 4d15.

Next enable whichever mod you want to try, start up the game and check if the checksum has changed. If it has then achievements are disabled, if not then you're good to go.

As stated above it's pretty much only graphical/UI mods that don't change it (and even some of those do). Right now I'm using a couple of mods that give you extra options for your flag. Neither changes the checksum.

Sorry, that is what I meant. The way I have always looked at is, there is no point in using Ironman mode if you can't get achievements.
