My people retreat from the Void Cloud.. but they are neutral?
How do i prevent them from fleeing, or is there no way?

Void clouds aren't neutral. They are usually extremely hostile and will move to attack your ships the instant they enter the system.

click on a fleet in your fleet info screen bottom left corner of the screen click the stance button the button on the far right middle of said window. cycle through the stances until you get the appropriate one for what you want.

I swear i did research on them and my people found that they were neutral? Or am i mixing it up with something else?

The only neutral ones are the tiyanki, AKA Gas Grazers.

If you need a Science ship to move through a system that has a hostile space monster in it, just set it to Passive mode instead of Evasive. It won't run away and will pass through the system, avoiding the monsters.

Just be absolutely sure to set it back to evasive after that. I forgot and it cost me the ship and a lvl 5 scientist. :steamfacepalm:

Oh, I learned that lesson very well. The guy I lost was awesome, very good traits. Not to mention it was earlyish in the game and I only had one other science ship. That was a hell of a face palm. =P

I sent my most expendable scientist to see whether it was possible to survey a system without angering the local space amoeba. "It is better to die in order to sate the curiosity of the Director than to live for yourself."
