If you have ANY problems starting Stellaris - Try this!

If you have problems starting the game in any way, try the following:

• Disable any user made mods
  
• Verify the game cache (right click Stellaris in Steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> “Verify integrity of game cache”)
  
• Delete the …\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris -folder on your computer (make sure to backup any save files you may have in there)

If the game still won’t start after doing the above steps, then completely reinstall the game.


Also, it seems some people had problems playing it fullscreen. Try setting it to windowed mode if nothing else helps (if you have a problem solved by this, please post a bug report in our bug report forum here[forum.paradoxplaza.com])

Edit// If you have problems getting to the game settings for whatever reason. Then try editing the ...\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\settings.txt file with notepad

EDIT no3 You can also try starting the game by going to ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris\ and starting stellaris.exe by right clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator"

Worked for me after i run the .exe in admin- mode. This should be in the OP- post as it seems to be a common workaround...

Every single time I start the game I get a white screen and "not responding". None of the steps worked. If I let the game sit forever I hear music, but I still can't interact with the game.

I'm kinda similar, I have done every step to try and start my game including 'run as administrator'. Nothing has worked so far.
All that happens is i get the launch window, as soon as I click launch my screen display changes size and then im left on my desktop with stellaris sound in the background unable to play the game.
It's like the dev's are taunting me :(

This is definately an issue that will be solved by setting the game to windowed mode instead of fullscreen. Click the little cogwheel button on the launcher and change it.

I already tried that. It just makes a blank screen in a window.

when i use admin right to start the game the 0xc00007b error pops up,
and no matter what the Launcher wont come up

Edid: I tried to reinstall C++ Redistributable 64 and 86 still nothing

I can start the game, but the loading screen keeps kicking me out to the desktop and wont let me in to play the game. i can hear the music playing in the background . ive tryed the recomended steps but no avail. any suggestions ?

I'm not sure if it's the right section but:
I keep seeing screenshots on which people have addditional emblems in faction creator (like "Domination", "Paradox" and so on), which are not present in my game. I have a standard pre-order version. What am I missing?

I found a bug that let's you pick only positive traits for your faction, no matter how expensive. Just edit an empire and pick 4 positive traits and click "Save" being on the "Trait" chart. It's cheese, I hope they patch it. ;)

PS. For some reason achivements don't work. I've colonized 3 planets and still don't have achivement for colonizing a planet.

I could play the game just fine yesterday, but today I can start the launcher, but pressing "Play" it stalls and crashes.

I have tried all the fixes suggested apart from these two:

* Delete the …\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris -folder
* Reinstall the game.

Great game for as long as I got to play it.
Ran fine with no lag or issues yesterday.

Data:
I have not been logged into the Paradox account at any time.
I like modifying local game files and memory to focus on exploration rather than economy, but that means that I stay away from multi player games.

I praise that you are open for people who like to modify their own games and it was fun.
But currently it will not start up again

Tried all the listed fixes as well as some others. Nothing. Game boots up and seems to run fine, but once I get to the "start new game" loading screen it hangs. It doesn't crash it just hangs.
